Man, what an intense looking bunch there. Wellwood especially. I kid, I kid. Anyway, here’s a brief recap of the Canucks week that was, although it’s a little light on some details.

So, I understand mistakes happen and when you’re updating massive websites with tons of overlap in regards to content, the odd mistake will occur.
That said, I found this over on Canucks.com earlier today in their Prospects Central section. I don’t know why, but the juxtapositioning of name and photo made me laugh:

Also, here is an amazing rundown of the Leafs loss to the Canucks:

So the road trip goes on. Despite some late game heroics and a lucky double minor in the latter half of the third period, the Canucks were unable to come from behind yet again against the Montreal Canadiens. Or should I say the Canucks could not find a way to solve Jaroslav Halak and subsequently are STILL without a win in February.

I’m pretty sure no one expected last night’s game to go down the way it did. No, seriously. If you were able to predict that the Canucks were going to go down three goals in the first, Luongo was going to get pulled and Andrew freaking Raycroft was going to save the day, I’d like to sit down with you and pick your brain for the upcoming lottery numbers.

As I’ve mentioned in some previous posts, I’ve finally moved back to Calgary. Since I’m now situated in Alberta, I thought now would be a great time to touch on what’s now the ‘hometown’ team for me.
Why am I writing about the Flames? Well, Sun Tzu laid it out pretty cleanly:
“If you know both yourself and your enemy, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.”
While it may not be enjoyable to do so, I consider it a necessary evil.

Another horribly late postscript. I apologize. My move from Toronto to Calgary has drained the hell out of me so I’m just getting things sorted out. I basically passed out after the game last night and had to run around doing errands today, hence the superlate post. I’m hoping things will be totally sorted come Saturday. We’ll see…

So almost 24 hours later I’m writing up the postscript to last night’s game. I apologize for not having a write up done earlier, for the scant few of you who are dying to know what I thought of the game (hi Mom.) Anyway, I was hopping over to NHL.com to check something out and I scanned the headlines bar really quickly. And, well…

Why are you people coming here for my insight? I am clearly a 10 year old trapped in an adult’s body. Seriously.
Added bonus: Bill Guerin apparently owns a windowless van:

The Vancouver Canucks were facing a depleted, struggling Pittsburgh Penguins club. The Penguins were without the services of Marc Andre Fleury, who suffered a broken finger and regular backup goalie Brent Johnson. Star forward Evgeni Malkin was going through a 11 game goalless drought which can serve as a microcosm of the Penguins general offensive woes: 29th rated powerplay in the league.

First off, I gotta apologize for no game notes for the Moose tilt and for the late posting for the postscript from last night’s game. I had a really busy day yesterday that I guess wore me out, as I was passed out by the end of the Wild game. No comment on whether or not the Canucks effort against the Wild contributed to my coma induced state.

What a huge week for Alex Burrows and the Canucks! Although it ended on a sour note, the Canucks continued their solid play to start the New Year. Plenty to go over, so no mucking around. Let’s take a look at the Canucks Week That Was.
